Site Visit Overview

Overview

Full site visit travel support from planning through expense reimbursement is provided to all NHSC participants who have been approved for travel. It is important to remember that to be eligible for Site Visit travel reimbursement, program participants must first obtain an NHSC Site Visit approval.


After the NHSC contractor is notified of your Site Visit travel request approval, you will receive an email from  CivilityMS Site Visit & Relocation Portal  containing a link to create your login credentials for the Travel Management database. (The Travel Management database is an online portal developed to manage your travel needs and to track your travel expenses.) The email you receive will be sent to the email address you provided to NHSC when registering for the Scholar and Student to Service program, and your email address will serve as your username when logging-in to the Travel Management portal. Once you have accessed the Travel Management portal, you will need to schedule a Site Visit appointment utilizing the “Schedule an Appointment” option on the portal’s Home page. Please keep in mind, all appointment times are listed in Eastern Time (ET).


At the time of your scheduled Site Visit appointment, you will be contacted by your assigned Travel Coordinator via phone. During your call you will receive a full review of your specific travel allowances and requirements to reduce the risk of incurring non-reimbursable travel expenses. Your assigned Travel Coordinator will also provide information relative to NHSC contracted support which will help reduce upfront travel expenses for you and your approved family member, if applicable.
